About ORIANA

Q: Please introduce yourself!

A: Hi! I'm ORIANA. Singer, songwriter, and actress!

Q: What is your music and arts background?

A: I grew up surrounded by music and arts, coming from an artistic family, as well as my dad who has been in the music industry my entire life as a producer, percussionist, songwriter, & performer. I also started dancing ballet at a very young age which cultivated the love I have for performing in front of an audience.

Q: You recently released a single called 'Lento', can you tell us a little about this project and where people can listen to the song?

A: Yes! It's my first official single out in the world! Available on all platforms! We recorded it back in 2019, believe it or not. But, didn't end up releasing it until this year (2021). My dad came to me with the melody one day and I was hooked. Some time later, we sat down and wrote it together in Orlando, where he was working at the time, and also where we recorded it. Now, you can stream it everywhere!

Q: How does your heritage play into your music style?

A: I'd say it plays a huge role. I'm always trying to incorporate sounds that resonate with me in my music. And that comes directly from my upbringing. I grew up in Miami, I come from a Venezuelan background, and also feel so closely rooted to American genres and sounds, like jazz, R&B, folk, Motown. I was definitely instilled with an international musical palette from an early age.

Music Advice

Q: What advice do you have for aspiring singers?

A: I'd say don't try to too hard at being the best. Find what makes you, you. And get really good at that.

Q: How do you find inspiration to write songs?

A: Often times, I write from imagination! I start building the song based in the idea the melody gives me.

Q: What was an obstacle you faced in your music career, and how did you overcome it?

A: I'd say every artist goes through this, but probably not having my career take off the way I always imagined. The truth is, it'll never go the way you imagine, but I've learned to take the bull by the horns and not be afraid to depend on myself for big decisions.

Q: What is the best advice a voice teacher has given you?

A: My voice teachers have always encouraged me to take risks and challenge myself. So, probably not to be afraid to try new things.

Music Inspiration

Q: What is the best experience music has brought you?

A: I'd say everyday that I listen to music is the best experience music brings me. It doesn't take anything too special to feel like music is the best part of my day. But, the magic you feel when you listen to music right in front of you; whether it's someone playing guitar at home or the magical chemistry between musicians on a stage. There's nothing like it.

Q: How does music empower you?

A: Music liberates me, it makes me feel grounded, it's where I am at my purest, and my most self. That helps me be the best person I can be, for myself and others.

Q: Anything else you would like to share?

A: It feels so good to answer such honest and beautiful questions about not only my craft, but music and art as a whole. Thank you for the opportunity.

Q: How should listeners stay updated on your music?

A: I'm @o.c.p.r on all major platforms! Follow me on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, the works! And don't forget to stream Lento!!!
